Учитывая, что адаптер PCI, а не PCI Express - сколько трафика идёт через сетевуху? Вполне возможно, что упёрлись в предел шины, там всего гигабит "на всё про всё". В целом есть стойкое подозрение, что транзит в 40kpps при размере фреймов ~1000 байт (т.е. ~320Mbps) для указанной системы с адаптерами 82541 на PCI - почти предел. Под любой ОС, с любыми драйверами. Ответы на вопросы выше помогут уточнить предположение. Может, просто, поток валится на одно ядро, которое уже под 100% ? Покажите top Возьмите аналогичную конфигурацию железа и соберите копию бордера. Судя по ответам - действительно упёрлись в шину PCI, поскольку остальное вроде бы позволяет протянуть до 100-150Kpps и гига точно. Еще очень странно, что все прерывания сидят на IOAPIC, какие ключи загрузки ядра используете? Можно вывод dmesg показать? Рекомендаций пока несколько, причём обязательных: 1. Перейти на x86-64 - это надо сделать в первую очередь, даже если очень не хочется (дополнительно по возможности - перейти на CentOS 6), поскольку PAE в таких задачах - зло 2. Думать о замене PCI сетевух на PCI-E - это единственное решение в данном случае. Причём это можно совместить с (1) по простою / времени работ. (нижеследующие пункты можно и нужно выполнять уже сейчас, но фиг они сильно помогут в данном конкретном случае - они скорее на будущее) 3. ethtool -G eth0 rx 4096 tx 4096 4. ethtool -G eth1 rx 4096 tx 4096 5. ifconfig eth0 txqueuelen 4096 6. ifconfig eth1 txqueuelen 4096 7. echo 16384 > /proc/sys/net/core/netdev_max_backlog --- Ну и мимо темы, по некоторым моментам: SMP работает?Может, просто, поток валится на одно ядро, которое уже под 100% ? Судя по /proc/interrupts - SMP работает, и потоки с сетевух разведены по ядрам. Естественно, с одной сетевухи валится на одно ядро, они однопоточки, но ядра (уже судя из top) недогружены. Т.е. крайне вероятно, что упёрлись в шину. Почему частота не соответствует заявленной? Ядра недогружены, работает cpufreq, всё в принципе нормально. Лучше не трогать, по крайней мере до момента, пока это не станет критичным (что в данной конфигурации вряд ли). Электроэнергия тоже денег стоит. Фиг настройки сильно помогут в данном случае, да и переход на C6 / x86-64 - тоже не особо. Эти две вещи всё равно надо сделать, на будущее, ну и взять за правило, поскольку в сетевых решениях PAE в любом случае зло, и C5->C6 тоже достаточно очевидный переход, если нет зависящего от C5 софта. В Вашем случае только замена сетевых плат на PCI-E способна что-то кардинально изменить. Упомянутые мной настройки могут увеличить эффективность утилизации PCI сетевухами, но в целом - 400-440 мегабит всё равно останется жёстким теоретическим пределом, практический будет в районе 300-350. Перечитайте моё сообщение над Вашим с выводом dmesg, я там список рекомендаций чуток обновил.
