dummy0 vs lo:0 linux 2.6

Подскажите плиз, какая разница между dummy0(1,2,3,...) и альясом на lo (lo:0 и т.д.) при навешивании лупбэка на linux-хост? Есть ли смысл подгружать модуль dummy или проще всё-таки навесить альяс на lo ?
