*Politics and habits drive it, not technology

 

-Regulators do not like changing fixed licences to mobile

-Carriers don't like "open" bisiness model of WiMAx

 

* The E ecosystem is colapsing

 

-A number of handset vendors have backed out

-Almost all tier 1 suppliers have killed E efforts

-The retail models are not built, nor the roaming

-Certification is slow and cumbersome

-What's left will be owned by China

 

Aperto prophecy:

The best E can hope for it to be absorted by LTE leaving WiMax go back and do what it does best, providing fixed and light nomadic access for emerging markets, rural and SME access for more populated areas, which will ensure a long life for D and D variants.
