I tried to search for next problem on forum and saw that some people had same problem but couldnt figure out how they solved it. I used ap as client and used macclone as i connected with only one computer. Now when i connect two computers, i disabled macclone and enabled nat. I connect to mikrotik btw. Now , both computers can see each other and all computers connected to mikrotik, but cant ping or see mikrotik itself. Thats strange, they got ip adress and dns adress from mikrotik and network works, filesharing , just internet does not because it does not see mikrotik. What could be the problem?

@N.leiten Can u please explain in english what initialGain does exactly? I could not understand, is it some kind of treshold for signal level, like signal below 30 means no connection or something like that?

Hello, me again, just some small questions... I put Wive firmware to ovislink 5460, i needed it as client, so turned on bridge, turned on macclone, set the ip addresses and it is working ok. Now, about led's, WEP/WAP led is always on, in fact it is on about 4s lighting with orange light, then it is switched with reset led witch is red, and lights about half of second, then wep/wap and so on in circle, is that ok? One more thing about power, i raised OFDMPOWER to 1a, as i think i read here you are using that value, how many mw is that approximately? Is it ok to use that value without aditional cooler? Interesting , i tried value 1f and signal went up, but transfer was lower than with 1a, dunno why... Finaly, thanx for firmware, working mutch better than original one, to me at least as client, and finaly i can raise power, here where i live with so much noise, it must be used, otherwise it works very bad, greetings...

When you say login via serial console, that means by max232, right? When i do that and press ESC on boot, i get terminal, but flash command is not working, says unknown command. Only ipconfig works, and by typing ? it lists some commands but not flash command. So, where i type that flash command? EDIT: stupid me, just had to hit ENTER, sorry I see you use same mac address for etho0 and wlan0, shouldnt wlan0 be in your case xxxxx:17? Because i do rtl8186 full dump it has all 3 mac addresses different. Thanx. Cool stuff in there, i saw txpower can be set, wuold it work? One more think, how can i make a backup of full flash, so i have this one with my mac address in it? Thanx

I once tried dgreen's 2.0 i think but it did not had client option. Does any of yours made firmwares can be used as client, and if yes does it have dhcp client? Thanx

Hi again. I tried to put your firmware on 5460, it worked fine. Dunno if it should but WEP/WPA lights with red light, and blinks, is it ok, it might be it is turned on by default... i can telnet fine, but dont know what to do next. Is it possible you give me commands for setting to work in client mode, G standard, how to connect to SSID. And how to set TCP/IP values, eg how to change ip on router. Beside this how to see status of router? Are you interested in developing web interface? Thanks

Yes, it probably is the reson why i have different mac now, but since last one was not fine, i am ok with this. So if it is in flash, then it could be changed by compiling firmware? Anyway this mac not original, but works. Is original mac written on bottom on routers sticker, the 12 numbers close to bar code?

Ok, here is what i did and solved problem. I got http://www.cipis.net/ovislink/5460AP/FW/rt...6-dump-full.bin , and via rs232 cable i did flw to address 00000. Ovislink rebooted, and after that mac was changed, and it booted with firmware i never saw before but not important now. After that i tried intermediate-firmware, worked, and after that v2_E6, it worked. Reboot red light did not worked but ufter upgrading to bootloader 1.4 it was fine. So far so good. I dont like having other mac than original, butmaybe will change it in future. Dgreen, u were most helpfull to me, thanks to you i have alive router again, thanks. It is too bad that no forums on english with this topic, hard to read , i bearly understand this one :). I might try your firmware later, guess i like to play with this stuff :), easier when have jtag now. But as i said i am not good with linux and your language, so i will wait a bit i guess. Thanks again for help, and sorry for spaming here and if i interupted some of your discussion, but after all it might help someone.

I connected serial cable, and decided to upload to 8000. v2 firmware uploads, but after couple of lines starts goin in circles with some data. I ulpoaded intermediate to 8000, that worked. I just checked checksum, it is same as yours. That should not be problem, because as i stated , it is same as the other v2 versions, intermediate goes fine, after that invalid file!. EDIT:I flashed with those firmwares fine before it was bricked.

Hello, i post here because i have one problem after debricking Ovislink 5460, which i was able to debrick with help of dgreen, thx again for help. You discuss about firmware here, so maybe you have idea how to solve my problem. I can succesfuly flash my ap with older firmwares 3.2.1.3.8e, 3.2.1.3.9eu, with aplite, with ital8186-modificado, but i cant flash v2 firmware not any version ( a3,e4,e5,e6). Intermediate-firmware goes ok, but ufter trying to flash with v2 it says -Invalid file!-. I dont know what could be the problem. With jtag i put 1.4 bootloader without first 16bytes, but before that i put whole firmware ( it took 6 hours). Now when reading this http://www.smallworks.com/~jim/RTL8186/izw...stem%20note.doc i see after boot code goes H/W, something related to hardware, is it posibly i overwrote that and mad some mess? I do have regular mac address-es, so it might be it is skiping that part when flashing with jtag. I tried to ftp v2 firmware but it does not boots afterwards. I tried with serial console, tftp-ed to ap, wrote flw 30000 xxx xxx , that didnt work, maybe i should put it to 8000, regarding that doc file that DS starts at that address? Would it be possible to put http://www.cipis.net/ovislink/5460AP/FW/rt...6-dump-full.bin by serial cable, would it destroyed my mac's or something? I apologise for posting in this topic related to linux firmware, i would try that one, but as i see it does not have web access so i dont think with my knowledge of linux it would be smart yet :).

WOOOOOW, it is strange how a man can be happy when no more Request timeouts in console!!! I removed first line from bootloader, and after powercicle finaly red led was lit. After that 5460recovery procedure, and it worked. AP alive again. I cant thank you enough for your help guys, i owe you some beer :). I still don't believe it worked after all those soldering on chip :). I still didnt remove all those wires from chip, because i have one more problem. I can upgrade to 3.2.1.3.8e, and 3.2.1.3.9eu, and APLite, and ital8186-modificado, but... i cant upgrade to newest v2 firmware. I can upgrade with Intermediate-firmware, then reboot, and when i sellect WL-5460AP-v2-E5-firmware (or E6), he uploads but says "Wrong File" or "invalid file" i cant remember now, and refuse to upgrade. Strange. Any tip on these problem?

Cant figure out what bytes are here, 42 should be like 8 bits? One byte?

I had no other idea so i decided to put whole flash. I did flashmem 0x3fc00000 with 1.2 flash, and lol, went to sleep. It took 6 hours to complete. But no results, power led light on, and lan led working only. I am stuck now, i'll wait to see if you have some advice about next move, thanks.

Ok, here is what i done. I had to change line: cable ppdev /dev/parport0 DLC5 to WIGGLER instead off DLC5, but after that it reacted to "detect" command. I done detectflash 0x3fc00000, that was like yours. After that i done flashmem 0x3fc00000 /clock_fix.bin All whent ok, instead of yours 0x3fc048D8, mine was 0x3fc0497a, dunno if that means anything. After that i done that 2 readmem commands, all went fine. But after poweroff, and removing jtag, router reacted same as before, only power led was on. Didnt react to new bootloader at all. What should i do next? Should i try to put whole flash? That is goin to take ages so i will wait for yours advice. Dunno if command should be the same, flashmem, as i dont know what 0x3fc00000 address means, should i flash it to that address ? Or maybe erase whole flash, than just put bootloader, i dont know, please give me some tip. edit: I forgot to mention, after detect command, 5-th led from left lights with red color, is it ok?
